![]() Some don't get along with Steam sometimes, so the final step is sometimes needed depending on what you have maybe. I see you said you turned off your antivirus, but that is not the last step from the support page linked below, if you have one that is listed there. I did exactly as instructed from top to bottom, but unfortunately the problem persists. Originally posted by ĦØⱢỊϾ Șῌ⊙₮:Thanks for the speedy reply. At least I can purchase through my browser, but again, it'd be convenient to be able to use the desktop client like I have been for years. What's causing HTTPS to act like this in the desktop client? What do I do next? Bypassing HTTPS for purchasing sounds like a bad idea. It may be related to HTTPS, as when I've tried to open up a trade on a friend's profile, as Teutep has suggested their first reply, I get another black screen. I've looked over that Disabling Background Applications page posted in Teutep's first reply and nothing else on there appears to apply to my situation. I turned off both my AV and Firewall and got the same results. Most of it is irrelevant, but I did check my firewall, AV and such to see if Steam had somehow become blocked. They then directed me to the Troubleshooting Network Connectivity page.
